NFA provided structural engineering design and detailed drawings for additional classrooms and a new entrance addition to the existing school. A portion of the addition consists of a basement area which takes advantage of the existing site grades. This basement addition is under the existing classrooms on the west end of the building and contains a mechanical and an electrical equipment room. The renovation also consisted of a rework to the existing window wall system in the classroom construction, including new control joints. New chiller foundations, retaining walls, and roof framing from mechanical equipment were also included in this project. Structural project materials included cast-in-place concrete, hot-rolled steel, steel joists, metal roof deck and metal floor deck, unit masonry, miscellaneous metals, and light gage cold-formed framing/drywall systems. NFA also provided shop drawing review for this project.
